What accommodation details do I need to provide?
We need the following details from you in order to process your application:
1. Accommodation provider
Start typing the name of your accommodation provider (e.g., Homes for Students) and select from the dropdown list. If your provider is not listed, click "Add Accommodation provider manually" and enter the details manually.
2. Property address
Start typing your new home’s address and select from the list provided. If it doesn’t appear, try refining your search. This list is provided by Google, so if it doesn't come up, Google potentially recognises it as something else.
3. Your share of the rent
Enter the exact amount you will be paying towards the rent in pounds (£). This determines your service fee, and we will verify this with your accommodation provider. Entering an incorrect amount may delay your application.
4. Payment frequency
Specify whether your rent is paid monthly or weekly. Do not assume weekly rent is simply multiplied by 4. Most months have more than 4 weeks, so accuracy is crucial.
Please note: In order to work out your monthly payment we do the following:
52 weeks per year, divided by 12 months = 4.333. We then multiply your weekly rent amount by 4.333 which gives us your monthly rent.
5. Tenancy start & end date
Provide the exact dates from your tenancy agreement, as agreed with your accommodation provider. The start date is when you move in and the end date is when your tenancy ends (and you either need to renew or you move out). Please check these dates with your accommodation provider if you do not know them. They are VERY IMPORTANT to get right here.
6. Your phone number
Enter your country code and phone number to receive important SMS updates. This helps us speed up the application process by allowing direct communication by phone rather than just email.
7. Press submit!
Make sure to submit your details once entered.
If the page doesn’t submit or the button doesn’t appear clickable, you should first check the following:
- All fields are completed. You can’t leave any section blank.
- You have selected your accommodation provider from the dropdown (or manually entered it).
- Your address is chosen from the provided options.
